Mission and Vission

Vision

Over the next five years, TPRI shall strive to achieve the following Vision  “People and the environment safe from pesticides with sustainable agriculture”

Mission

The Mission statement that expresses the fundamental purpose and business of TPRI;“Empowering farmers and public to make informed decisions on pests, pesticides management and providing plant information and genetic resources for present and future development options”.

Core Values

TPRI shall conduct research and provide services to its customers and the general public while observing the following core values:

  1. Integrity – TPRI staff shall exercise their authorized powers within specified boundaries and they shall not use such powers for personal gain, to favor friends, or relatives or to undermine others.
  2. Quality - TPRI staff shall provide quality research and render services within a time frame.
  3. Team Work - The Institute recognizes that sustainable success is a collective endeavor based on mutual trust, complementary effort and shared objectives so as to achieve a common goal.
  4. Efficiency -TPRI staff shall endeavor to carry out research and deliver services with minimum resources within a given time.
  5. Creativity - TPRI staff shall pursuit use own creative thinking and imagination so as to increase the institute productivity.
  6. Excellence - Pursuit of Excellence in Service – TPRI staff shall find it their responsibility to provide excellent service. In so doing they shall be knowledgeable of and respect this code of ethics, set realist work targets which will enable to achieve the highest standard of performance.
  7. Entrepreneurship - TPRI servant shall strive to realize a profit at minimum risk in especially in a business or firm with shared risk and profit.
  8. Self-reliance -TPRI staff shall strive to reliance on his/her own power and resources rather than those of others so as to increase the institute productivity.
  9. Partnership - TPRI servant shall team up with other researchers and stakeholders in carrying out research to increase the Institute productivity.
  10. Innovation - through supporting creativity, experimentation and institutional transformation while responding to environment, technology and demographic changes; TPRI Staff shall initiate approaches that add value to the institutional mandate and work relationships.
  11. Competency - Call for a thorough knowledge of one’s work skillful behavior respect for others and commitment to high standards of quality assurance and timeliness.
